Galerie 57 biedt kunstenaars, exposanten en commercanten een ruimte aan om te werken, te tonen, te verkopen en te wonen in het inspirerende, historische Brugge.
Fancy working and living in beautiful Bruges (Belgium) for a while? In a gallery that also has a studio, so that you can work there, as well as enjoying a cozy living space.
Gallery 57 in a nutshell:
- 30 m2 exhibition space;
- 20 m2 studio space, with two large work tables, pump stone and toilet;
- many shopping enthusiasts and tourists;
- a living area with 2 bedrooms, an equipped kitchen, living room and sun terrace.
Everything is very well lit and heated.
The gallery annex studio and living space is located on a busy entrance well within the historic fortresses of Bruges, not far from the Minnewater, the OLV Church and the Gruuthuse Museum. A stone's throw from the Grote Markt, the Vismarkt and Het Zand. And close to the canals ("vests"), the train station, and with nice cycling and walking routes in the area.
Bart Marechal and Ortrud Grevel opened the Ceramics Atelier at 57 Katelijnestraat in Bruges in the early nineties. They were among the most important exponents of post-war ceramics in Flanders.
In 2013, the German-Australian Wiebe Bereza joined the Ceramics Atelier to continue the path taken by Ortrud Grevel.
Following the passing of Ortrud (May 2013) and Bart (December 2016), Wiebe and partner Jelle Marechal decided to continue the Ceramics Atelier, and to open it up as an exhibition space and studio.
